PlayOutside Korea is an outdoor education cooperative dedicated to introducing Korea's diverse nature and rich culture through authentic wilderness experiences. We believe that true learning and deep cultural connection happen when we step beyond the classroom doors and into the wild.
From the tranquil currents of the Hongcheon River to the rugged ridges of long-distance trails, we utilize Korea's pristine environments as a living classroom. By combining a structured curriculum of hiking, backpacking, canoeing, and camping with Smart Wilderness Navigation (orienteering & geocaching) and strict Leave No Trace (LNT) ethics, we empower youth and international communities to build lifelong resilience, teamwork, and self-reliance while discovering the true essence of Korea.
Every outing has a learning framework — ecological literacy, risk management, self-reliance — not just a destination.
We connect participants with Korea's cultural and natural heritage — the 산 (mountain spirit), seasonal rhythms, and traditional ecological knowledge.
Leave No Trace principles, local ecosystem stewardship, and low-impact practices are woven into everything we do.
Hiking
A multi-day residential program developing leadership through outdoor challenges. Participants practice decision-making, teamwork, and self-leadership in Korean mountain environments.
